Dear
Students and Parents, Welcome
to The
year begins with the LINK program, which targets freshman success.
Adult mentoring through Academic Guide Groups will continue to
provide another avenue for each student to interact with a staff member in
an ongoing way throughout the year. We
take pride in what we do and are continually searching for improvements.
We expect our students to work diligently and to take their rights
and responsibilities seriously. Our
staff is genuine in their belief in the worth, dignity and value of each
individual and that our respect and regard for you is very important.
Positive and productive relationships between you and your peers,
your teacher and your parents are critical for maximizing the success and
growth you will achieve this year. The
responsibility for creating and maintaining this relationship rests with
each one of us. To
our new students, we extend a special welcome.
We want you to get off to a great start.
Read this handbook and become familiar with the rules and
guidelines that are expected of you. Not
EVERYTHING is in the Student Handbook.
If new rules or procedures are developed throughout the year, you
will be notified in the daily announcements and/or the newsletter that
goes home with progress reports. Get
to know the staff that can help you with the many questions that you are
sure to have. Do not hesitate
to ask questions or seek help; the entire staff is more than willing to
assist you. To
our parents and guardians, with the start of another school year, I am
sure that you have renewed hopes and expectations for your student’s
education. Like you we also
want what is best for each of the 750+ students we serve.
We recognize that as a school and as staff, it is our purpose to be
of service to our students, parents and community.
That service is one of preparing our young adults to be successful
in defining and achieving their goals.
With your help as partners in this endeavor, our students can be
assured of making great strides toward their goals. To
those students who are entering your senior year, enjoy each and every day
of your last year of high school. These
nine months will go by very quickly and only you can fill the time with
rich memories. Have
a wonderful 2007-2008 school year! Charlotte
