Course Title: Video Production Department: Social Science
Instructor: Mr. Shields Grade Level: 10-11

Course Overview:
This course is a study in basic video production techniques and procedures. The students will be asked to produce video records of athletic, club, and other extra curricular activities for use by the school and clubs for multiply purposes. The students will be asked to work independently and on a deadline, this may require many extra evenings and time outside of the classroom. Participation will be the major assessment of this class, if you feel that you will not be able to put forth the above mentioned time please speak to me before the beginning of the second week of the class.
Course Content/Goals:
The primary goal of this course is to improve your understanding of video production. Students will use multimedia technology to develop hands on skills that directly applicable to the professional workplace.

Assessment: Grading Scale- As per student handbook: A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, etc.
Grading percentages:
Participation: (Includes
being on time and present in class): 20%
Work Hours: (The information about work hours is in the paragraph below): 60%
Tests and Quizzes: 20%
This majority of the class grade will be based on hours worked inside and outside the classroom; students
will be responsible for keeping a record of hours worked in a 3 ring binder. Those hours will be verified every 6 weeks. Students will be responsible for acquiring 18 work hours a semester, (which is one hour a week over the 18 week semester) work hours include time outside the classroom not in. Examples of work time include: recording after school activities such as: sports, dances, and drama or choir events. Students can also earn work hours by editing the above mention events.

available every day from 7:30 – 8:00 AM, 3:00 – 3:30 PM
